Cake out as Shine takes Evian brief

Danone Waters has brought in Shine Communications to handle consumer work for Evian. The agency replaces seven-year incumbent Cake.

For all of this year Cake had promoted Evian – striving to maintain standout in the crowded branded water market – on a project basis. It also acted as press office for the brand, having formerly held a permanent contract.

Cake CEO Mike Mathieson said: 'Danone said it would be moving forward on a project basis, which is not an effective way of working for us. The account had been in limbo since the summer.'
