Barclays Capital chief steps down

Barclays Capital, the investment banking arm of Barclays, is searching for a comms head following the departure this week of John Anderson.

Anderson, who joined Barclays Capital in August 2001 from JP Morgan Chase, left on Tuesday. It is thought he plans to take time out.

Leigh Bruce, who this month stepped down as Barclays group director of comms, is covering the role until a replacement is found.

A spokeswoman for Barclays Capital said no replacement would be made for UK and Europe corporate marcoms head Loretta Murphy (PRWeek, 21 January) until Anderson's post had been filled.
