The firm is moving its second most senior UK PRO, analyst relations and PR manager Tracey Pretorius, to its headquarters in Washington state, where she will take the post of worldwide competitive PR lead.
Reporting to planning strategy general manager Martin Taylor, Pretorius will be part of the team that directs how the software firm
competes. She joined Microsoft last year (PRWeek, 6 February 2004). UK head of PR Hugh Davies said he was already looking for her replacement.
In her new role, Pretorius will be particularly concerned with Microsoft's strategy towards Linux, a free rival operating system to Windows.
She will also be involved with Microsoft's 'Get the Facts' campaign to 'encourage a factual-based dialogue' about the company.
