Disney TV set for agency overhaul

Disney TV is staging a review of its entire UK agency roster as it seeks to bolster its popularity against stiff competition from rivals Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

Disney TV V-P of comms, EMEA Siobhan Kenny, who joined in July from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, said: 'We are operating in a highly competitive market. It is a multi-channel world and everyone is looking for some kind of stand-out.'

It is seeking one or more agencies that can 'bring extra creativity', she added.

The corporate and consumer briefs for UK Disney – the brand name for the Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney and Toon Disney channel – are held by Henry's House and Trimedia respectively.

Taylor Herring is the incumbent for grown-up Disney entertainment channel ABC1. The combined fee income is about £200,000.

Meanwhile, Disney TV has restructured its in-house comms team.

The two-member UK Disney PR team will join the European corporate office, based in Hammersmith, by the beginning of December.
