CORPORATE Jonathan Haslam, former director of group comms at Jarvis, is acting as interim director of corporate comms at bus and rail operator Arriva, it emerged this week. The firm continues to look for a permanent replacement for Julian Evans, who left about six months ago.

Alix Robson has bought Aurelia PR, the consumer agency of which she is MD, for an undisclosed sum. The firm will be rebranded Robson Communications within a year. Aurelia was founded in 1990 by Aurelia Cecil, who left in 2002, and was sold to AMV in 1997.

Rachel Whetstone, Michael Howard's former chief of staff, is in the running to become Google's first head of European PR.

Mitchells & Butlers, owner of the All Bar One chain, is using Launch PR for its second Beer Boutique campaign to get punters into All Bar One's 50 establishments. Splendid Communications handled a similar campaign last year.
Recruitment firm Kelly Services has brought in Pleon as its first UK agency, to promote the brand to businesses and customers. The contract was secured after Pleon's Dutch office handled a project brief.

Consolidated Communications has hired Porter Novelli stalwart and associate director Nick Woods as a director in its consumer team. Tara Maynard has also joined from consumer consultancy Zing in Australia.

Product innovation consultancy PDD Group is using Paratus Communications to handle trade PR. The agency is also seeking to target the general business and consumer media.
