Bartoli comes from Salem, Viale & Asociados, Microsoft's PR shop in Argentina, where he led the Microsoft account for the past two years. He replaces Victor Aimi, who was recently appointed public relations director for Microsoft Latin America.
The agency has not yet replaced him. Based in Buenos Aires, he will report to Matias Meyer, marketing manager for Microsoft's South Cone region, which includes Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Bartoli will oversee a nine-strong team, including a team of five at Salem, three staff at Pensum PR in Uruguay led by Pablo Ordonez, and an independent consultant based in Paraguay.
Silvina Garcia, from Salem's Microsoft account team, said the corporate communications remit is similar for each country, focusing on bridging the digital divide, responsible citizenship, contribution to the economic development in each country, and improving relationships with partner clients.
