US Airlines poised for NY route battle

Two US airlines are set for a head-to-head fight to woo business executives when their maiden UK flights take off within 30 minutes of each other.

The debut flight of MAXjet Airways leaves Stansted for New York at 10am on 2 November, while Eos Airlines makes its inaugural lift-off on the same route at 10.30am.

MAXjet hired BGB Communications last week and is charging around £1,200 for a return flight.

Eos, run by former BA executive Dave Spurlock, is using Jackie Cooper PR to target customers prepared to pay £3,500 for an individual  21 sq ft suite with a flat-bed.
