Hat Pin lines up team for acquisitions

Marketing and PR recruitment group Hat Pin has hired Gainsborough Communications as the company shakes up its board ahead of planned acquisitions.

Gainsborough was called in last week as Hat Pin unveiled executive chairman Gay Haines' move to an executive director role.

Collins Stewart founder Terry Hitchcock has taken over from Haines while Hat Pin has also appointed Paul Billett, former finance director at Dynamic Commercial Finance. Billett replaces Michael Marks, who has left the company.

Hat Pin has also brought in Arden Partners as its adviser and broker. The AIM-listed company, which owns the Kendall Tarrant Worldwide brand, has reported an eight per cent hike in half-year turnover to £2.5m. Pre-tax profits rose 30 per cent to £399,000.

Since listing in 1996, Hat Pin has been keen to expand its Kendall Tarrant brand by acquisition.
