Check Point and Firefly in fees row

Computer security firm Check Point Software Technologies is reviewing its pan-European PR after a bust-up with Firefly Communications after just five months.

Firefly MD Mark Mellor said the agency had agreed a settlement with Check Point for 'monies owed'.

'We had to terminate the relationship because the professional side was lacking and we weren't being paid,' Mellor said.

Check Point EMEA PR manager Margreet van Kinschot said: 'Because of issues beyond our control, there was a financial disagreement, which has been resolved by headquarters.'

She denied Firefly had not been paid but said Check Point was now on the hunt for a new PR agency.

Five agencies have been shortlisted for the account.
