Oxford Brookes honours Clarkson Motoring hack Jeremy Clarkson took a direct hit from a banana pie, but it was Oxford Brookes Uni that came off worse. Student activist Dee Lock accused the uni of 'rolling out the red carpet for a dangerous buffoon'. The leader of the city council's green group said that giving Clarkson a degree 'devalued Brookes, Oxford and the planet'. Transport 2000 described it as 'like Inspector Clouseau being given a detective of the year award', while 2,700 people signed a protest petition.
