Firefly snaps up Mazars UK brief

French accountancy firm Mazars has handed its London corporate brief to Firefly Communications, complementing its existing brief for Mazars in Scotland.

The appointment ends three years with Flagship, which was also up against Mattison Public Relations, and Haggie Financial in its pitch for the business.

Marketing director Derek Klyhn said Mazars in London, which was Neville Russell until its 1998 merger with the French group, wanted to show the media that 'we punch above our weight' as an adviser to 15 per cent of Europe's top 100 firms.

'Following the post-Enron fall of Arthur Anderson there has been coverage about how work for the biggest firms has become a closed shop for the big four,' said Klyhn. 'But we have the profile for this kind of firm.'
