The credit-card firm is creating a CSR and public affairs programme to address concerns over consumer debt (PRWeek, 15 July).
'Across the consumer lending market the level of scrutiny is higher than ever. Four is helping us drive further balance into the debate,' said Barclaycard head of PR Ian Barber.
Four takes over from Lexis PR which has handled mostly consumer work for Barclaycard since 1999.
Four partner Nan Williams said the agency would 'encourage efforts to promote transparency'.
