Camden calls for voters to register

Camden Council is encouraging locals to register to vote as part of its annual canvass for the Electoral Register.

The 'Have your say' campaign warns residents that if they do not complete this year's registration form they could lose their chance to vote in next year's local elections on 4 May.

'Residents could also find it harder to get credit and some services, such as parking permits or housing,' said a spokesman.

Camden estimates that 12,000 households could drop off this year's register because forms have not been returned, with a further 15,000 eligible residents not on the current register.

The campaign features posters on bus shelters and in local newspapers.
