Waltham Forest to renew chief hunt

Waltham Forest is to restart its hunt for a head of corporate comms after Newham Council's external comms manager Nick Williams reneged on his decision to take the post (PRWeek, 10 June).

The U-turn came just a few days after the 2012 Olympic Games were awarded to London. While both boroughs will host facilities during the Games, it is thought Newham will have more of the Olympic site.

Existing head of comms at Waltham Forest Seth Brook was due to leave the council in July to go freelance after three years at the authority.

He has now agreed to stay on until December, according to press and PR manager Melissa Hopkins.
