Dixons director of corporate affairs Kai Boschmann said FD, which acquired PA shop LLM Communications last month (PRWeek, 19 August), would replace 21-month incumbent Tulchan Communications in October.
Seven agencies pitched for the expanded group corporate, financial and brand-building brief, which Boschmann said had been created because Dixons 'wanted to make the budget work smarter'.
She added that FD was also chosen because of the brief's international reach.
Boschmann said there were no changes to Dixons' relationship with Talk PR (consumer), AxiCom (PCWorld digital lifestyle) and Brazil (PCWorld B2B).
Dixons' chief executive John Clare was this week set to deliver results for the first 18 weeks of the financial year. Some analysts predicted sales have fallen by seven per cent in the UK.
