Fry exits Scottish Power as cuts bite

Scottish Power corporate comms director Dominic Fry has been made redundant as part of group cost-cutting.

Fry, a former PR chief at Sainsbury's and Eurotunnel, left on Friday following the announcement of the group's £35m restructuring plan.

He told PRWeek he was 'considering other options' but declined to elaborate.

Director of group leadership development and reward Steve Dunn is to take over as director of a merged HR and corporate comms department.

Scottish Power chief executive Ian Russell said the restructure was due to the firm's recently announced sale of troubled US division PacifiCorp to MidAmerican Energy Holdings.

Fry joined Scottish Power in 2000 from Sainsbury's, where he was group comms director for four years.
