Firefly secures Activision brief

Video games maker Activision has parted company with Kazoo Communications, following its appointment by rival Sega, and hired Firefly for consumer PR ahead of the Christmas marketing assault.

Kazoo worked for Activision, which makes the Quake and Doom computer games, for five years, most recently on a PR programme for X-Men. But its Sega appointment (PRWeek 22 July) triggered a conflict of interest.

Firefly beat Frank, Bite Communications and Chocolate Communications in a competitive pitch ahead of imminent launches Ultimate Spider-Man and The Movies.
