The council has taken Geronimo on for an initial three-month period to devise a branded campaign using print and broadcast media, as well as community activities. The aim is to increase the amount of recycled household waste from 16 to 18 per cent by the end of March 2006, said director of regeneration and the environment Niall Bolger.
He added that if successful, the campaign will be extended to encompass energy and water efficiency.
Geronimo won the five-figure account in a three-way pitch.
The account is led at Geronimo by account director Oliver Berman, who reports to the council's environmental sustainability team leader Joe Baker.
