H&K experiments with staff blogs

Hill & Knowlton has unveiled a global initiative that encourages staff to blog while allowing the agency to retain control and potentially reap the benefits.

London-based UK netcoms director Niall Cook said: 'We believe we are the first professional services firm, let alone PR agency, to have done this - in the UK or probably worldwide.'

Bloggers are encouraged to 'exercise caution' when discussing client-sensitive issues. Explaining the decision to launch the initiative, Cook said: 'We're trying to advise clients (on blogging) based on actual experience.'

Staff, including Cook and MD for change and internal comms David Ferrabee, can be found online via blogs.hillandknowlton.com.
