Brunswick boosts Hutchison profile

Hutchison Whampoa, owner of video mobile network 3, has hired Brunswick to raise its corporate profile across Europe.

Although Hutchison has said it plans to float 3 UK - with which Brunswick has a two-year relationship - it is understood that since last month, Brunswick founder Alan Parker has been giving group-level strategic advice.

Parker has been advising Hutchison's Hong Kong-based senior executives on how to better handle communications in the UK and continental markets.

The company moved to cool speculation last month that it was in talks to buy Formula One for £571m.

It is thought that Hutchison will tender separately for financial comms advice around the planned flotation of 3 in the UK.
