Diary: Pharma PROs get ribbed by Norton

Graham Norton proved an inspired choice to compere the pharma comms industry's recent Communique Awards at Grosvenor House.

The camp comic couldn't resist politely extracting a metaphoric urine sample from revellers and delighting at the ostensibly naughty nature of some entries.

One victim of Norton's mocking was Weber Shandwick media director Scott Wilson. He took to the stage to collect an award for a WS campaign - 'Better Erections for Better Sex' - promoting impotency drug Viagra. Norton whooped with delight and said: 'I imagine Scott, as apparently the only man on that team, had long days at the office... lonely job!'

Wilson merely smiled politely, before returning to his seat next to his grinning CEO Colin Byrne.
