Diary: Hit or Miss... Nudecastle
On Sunday the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art and marketing body
Newcastle and Gateshead Initiative engineered a nudist stunt with
American artist Spencer Tunick, netting space in every national. Over
2,000 volunteers braved a chilly breeze at dawn to pose for Tunick's
photographs - which will feature in an exhibition at the Baltic in
January. 'It was really liberating,' said one volunteer in The
Independent. The organisations approached Tunick with the idea last year
and the entire stunt cost just £2,500.
