Public Sector: Campaign to fire up Welsh voters

The Electoral Commission in Wales has called in Equinox PR for a media relations campaign to combat voter apathy.

It will aim to explain how voting patterns have changed among different sections of the electorate, such as women and young people. The commission will draw on different aspects of its report on the general election results over the next six months. It wants to boost turnout for the Welsh Assembly elections in 2007.

Its annual Democracy Day, held in north Wales on 15 July, features speakers such as electoral commissioner for Wales, Glyn Matthias.
