The Alliance for Natural Health (ANH) was this week working to communicate that 'virtually no' vitamin and mineral food supplements would be banned in Europe from 1 August.
The ANH, using IKON Associates, is responding to a European Court of Justice ruling on Tuesday that provoked widespread media reports suggesting hundreds of vitamin and mineral supplements could be banned.
But IKON partner Adrian Shaw said: 'Some people have jumped the gun.
As far as our barrister interprets the ruling, hardly any vitamins will be banned as of 1 August.'
He added that the ANH wanted to help 'shape' what he called a 'raft of potential European, US and global' legislation and regulation that could 'threaten the future of natural health'.
