Hogarth beats rivals to Raymarine deal

Marine electronics manufacturer Raymarine has drafted in Hogarth PR to boost its profile in the City, having floated last year.

Hogarth was appointed last week in a competitive pitch. Citigate Dewe Rogerson, hired last year to handle PR for the firm's flotation on the London Stock Exchange, was also shortlisted.

The brief is to gain coverage for the firm in business media, initially print, but also broadcast.

It will also involve some investor relations support, although this is largely handled in-house.

'Hogarth is a necessary adjunct to the group of agencies we use for various disciplines, including trade press product (promotion) and sponsorship,' said international marketing communications manager Fiona Pankhurst. Raymarine uses ADPR for these two functions.

Raymarine shares floated at 152p on 6 December 2004.

The account is being led by Hogarth managing partner Chris Matthews.
