The move was unveiled this week by MS&L London and marks the final stage in the bolstering of its UK healthcare management, ongoing since last year. External candidates were also interviewed for the role.
Hyder will initially work across Sanofi-Aventis global accounts, including pre-launch drug Acomplia; she will also handle global work for Eli Lilly on brands including Cialis, Forsteo and Evista.
'Anne will be responsible for driving the ongoing development of MS&L's expanding global healthcare group,' said London healthcare group head Sally Bradford, to whom Hyder reports.
Hyder's relocation follows the recent appointment of Jennifer Garrett as director of UK healthcare (PRWeek, 3 June) and the promotion of Guy Nasse and Annabel Fiddian-Green to director roles (PRWeek, 18 March).
The latter duo now lead what MS&L refers to as two 'centres of excellence' for medical and advocacy affairs across the UK and global groups.
Hyder joined MS&L San Francisco in 1999 and was appointed director of its health team last year. She previously held a PR role at the University of California.
