The charity runs a fundraising campaign every March, but made the decision to launch a second annual push after being approached by accessories designer Ollie & Nic.
Ollie & Nic is designing a special-edition handbag in time for the run-up to Christmas, and MCCC will run a campaign targeting the women's consumer and fashion press - sectors from which it would not normally expect coverage.
It will also target national and regional newspapers, trade press and broadcast media.
The limited edition 'Star bag' will be available from October to Christmas in Ollie & Nic's shops in Brighton, Bluewater and London, and in independent UK retailers and some international locations. It will cost £50, with £5 of each sale going to the charity.
The organisation hopes to raise at least £2,500.
