Medway NHS hires for comms review

Medway NHS Trust - saddled with one of the country's worst mortality rates - is to strengthen its comms function following the appointment of former Department of Health comms manager Quentin Holden as interim comms chief.

Holden is reviewing the trust's comms strategy and building a new team following the departure of the trust's previous PRO, David Green, four months ago.

The first post to be filled will be a press officer. A head of comms position is also being created.

The Kent-based trust's annual mortality rates have recently risen, according to The Sunday Times' Good Hospital Guide.
