MHW to run media job for North-East

The economic development agency One Northeast has hired Newcastle-based Mitchel Halton Watson (MHW) to boost the North-East's image as part of a UK-wide campaign.

MHW leads the account, handling local media. Its proposal includes a partnership with Euro RSCG Biss Lancaster, which will handle national media.

The year-long drive will focus on the North-East's innovative businesses, history and heritage, city culture and coast and countryside, promoting the positive elements of the area rather than addressing any negative preconceptions, according to One Northeast.

The inward investment brief aims to attract businesses, students and tourists, and runs separately to a 'pure' tourism brief managed by BGB Associates.
