Pro-Israel group chief set to quit

The British Israel Communications and Research Centre (Bicom) is on the hunt for a director of comms after Lee Petar's decision to quit for PA agency Good Relations Political.

Bicom was set up in 2000 to counter alleged anti-Israeli messages in the British media, and now works more generally to shift public opinion in favour of Israel.

Petar joins Good Relations in mid-August as a senior consultant, reporting to MD James O'Keefe. He joined Bicom four years ago from Weber Shandwick.

He said it was the 'right time' to return to consultancy work. O'Keefe said Petar's 'combination of PA, campaigning and media relations experience' secured him the role.
