PRWeek hopes the pow-wow will be more fruitful than the brigade's previous move to encourage the capital's gays to sign up for duty - in March the organisation pulled a poster campaign aimed at lesbians (with the caption 'Fancy pulling an older woman?') after complaints from females in its ranks.
The brigade has now switched tactics as it bids to build a direct rapport with Soho-based business leaders. It is also planning to send an engine and information stand to Gay Pride.
Let's hope London Fire Brigade's own members approve this latest strategy.
