Healthcare: Pitts wins promotion to global role at MS&L

NEW YORK: Manning, Selvage & Lee (MS&L) has promoted Peter Pitts, the former top communicator at the US Food and Drug Administration, to a global role.

MS&L London CEO Nicholas Walters said Pitts, recruited last year, would have a greater role in advising agency clients on regulatory changes in Europe and emerging markets, primarily China.

Walters added: 'Initially Peter's mandate was to advise and guide clients mostly in the US on the regulatory affairs environment he had come out of at the FDA. It rapidly became apparent his knowledge and skill was much wider than that because the FDA retains strong relations with other regulators around the world.'

Pitts joined MS&L from a role as FDA associate commissioner - external comms (PRWeek, 11 June 2004). His former MS&L job title - senior vice-president of health affairs - has been augmented to include his global responsibilities.
