Poll reveals fears of comms chiefs

Private and public sector communications chiefs have radically different concerns about their jobs, according to a survey.

The study, by Eloqui PR, found the 24/7 global nature of media was most likely to keep private sector PROs awake at night, while their public sector counterparts cited colleagues who ignore advice as their top bugbear.

Private sector PROs also expressed concerns about winning CEO commitment, the inaccuracy of media coverage and growth of shareholder power.

Pressure group activity corporate governance are the next biggest sources of anxiety for public sector PROs.

Forty-six FTSE 250 companies and 123 public sector organisations were involved in the poll.
