Healthcare: Edelman seeks UK health chief

Edelman has this week launched a search for a new UK health division boss following the sudden departure of joint CEO and health chief Nigel Breakwell three weeks ago (PRWeek, 27 May).

CEO Stuart Smith, who now steers the 110-strong agency solo, has begun recruiting to fill the role, which will involve leading a team set to grow from 32 to 37 staff to cover organic growth courtesy of clients including Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis.

The new postholder will report to Smith and executive V-P/health MD Europe Kate Triggs, who is temporarily overseeing Breakwell's former UK health position.

'Nigel was more focused on the CEO role so clients have not seen a lot of difference after his departure,' said Triggs.
