Healthcare: Beejay leaves BCC for Parkinson's job

The Parkinson's Disease Society has hired Louisa Beejay as senior media officer.

Beejay joined this week from a role as services, policy and campaigns press officer at Breast Cancer Care (BCC).

At the Parkinson's Disease Society she joins a media team of five and reports to head of PR Helen Garner, in what Beejay described as a restructured comms operation.

She will handle proactive and reactive media relations, while aiming to raise the body's profile.

Beejay worked at BCC for around two and a half years and was formerly at the consumer tech division of Manning Selvage & Lee.

BCC has a five-strong PR team, which is run by head of communications Christina McGill.

Recruitment for Beejay's replacement is already under way.
