Public Sector: Gloucs consults public on policy

The Gloucestershire Strategic Partnership (GSP), a group of local organisations including the county council, this week launched a three-month public consultation on public policy.

'The Great Gloucestershire Debate' will ask for residents' views on issues such as transport, congestion and the environment.

PR for the initiative is handled by Gloucestershire County Council's comms team, with freelance PRO Leah McGuire working part-time as spokesperson.

Launched to coincide with Green Transport Week, which encourages people to consider different ways of travelling, the debate is being held in conjunction with media partners such as BBC Radio Gloucestershire and local paper The Citizen.

A dedicated website, greatgloucestershiredebate. org.uk, has gone live, as well as a bus poster campaign. 'We want to get people's views and then act on them,' said McGuire.
