Jane Fonda Shedding her image as an 80s 'workout queen', Jane Fonda worked tirelessly to promote her autobiography in the UK this week. The Guardian wrote of her 'bravery' as an anti-war activist during the Vietnam War, The Sunday Times claimed that 'few star autobiographies hold such interest', while the Daily Mail's headline ran 'The heart grows Fonda'.

A reconciliation between Fonda and Robert McNamara, US defence secretary during the Vietnam conflict, at the Hay-on-Wye Literature Festival helped fuel publicity.
