Public Sector: PPS looks to expand with regeneration practice

Management consultancy the PPS Group has launched PPS Regeneration following a number of recent contract wins, particularly by its local government specialist, DTW.

DTW is currently handling the Middlesbrough Initiative and the Queens Meadow project in Hartlepool, with previous activity including Halton Borough Council's Mersey Crossing project, and the East Kent Partnership.

'Regeneration has been an area of major public expenditure and the area of public consultation continues to be important, as does the inward investment market,' said DTW MD Pete Whelan.

PPS Regeneration will draw on consultants from DTW, which will supply comms, and four other PPS companies: PPS TerraQuest, PPS Consulting, EKOS Consulting and GEN Consulting - offering advice on housing, land and property, neighbourhood and community regeneration, economic business and skills development, and social enterprise councils.

PPS Regeneration will be co-ordinated by business development consultant Marisa Gunn.

Clients include local authorities and regeneration agencies.

DTW joined the PPS Group last October in a deal worth £2m (PRWeek, 5 November 2004).
