Public Sector: OFT in activity for competition law

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is targeting the construction and healthcare industries in the first stage of its campaign to promote competition laws to both small and medium-sized enterprises.

The two sectors have been identified as a priority because they are large industries, with a wide consumer base, and have more cartels than other sectors, said OFT comms director Mike Ricketts.

The campaign will target trade associations, national newspapers and the construction and healthcare trade press.

Citigate Dewe Rogerson is set to manage the OFT's year-long drive, which is aimed at improving understanding of recently revised competition laws (PRWeek, 15 April).
