Gay TV channel in 'mainstream' bid

The UK's first entertainment and lifestyle channel aimed exclusively at gay men has drafted in Gillan Media for its launch.

Faze TV goes live on Sky Digital in September, covering news, travel, fashion, politics and sport. It has also promised to screen adult material late at night.

Agency MD Adrian Gillan said the channel's broad reach and neutral-sounding name would appeal to the mainstream press.

'We're targeting the gay press, but while 40,000 gay men read the Gay Times, 400,000 gay and bisexual men read The Sun,' he said.
