Ex-MG Rover chief in talks with JCB

MG Rover comms director Daniel Ward is in the frame for the top comms post at Europe's biggest construction equipment firm JCB.

It is understood that Ward has been interviewed for the post of worldwide comms manager.

He left the collapsed car manufacturer on Monday and said he had not been offered the job at JCB, but refused to comment further.

JCB UK PR manager Nigel Chell said no second interviews had yet taken place.

Earlier this year, JCB was hit by the resignation of its former worldwide comms manager Brian Conway after only ten months in the post (PRWeek, 4 March).

Conway was the second consecutive PR chief to leave JCB after less than two years in the job, following former Princess Diana aide Jane Atkinson (PRWeek, 20 February 2004).
