Media Relations: BBC's Gunness in Medialink move

BBC news veteran Chris Gunness has left after 22 years to become head of media relations at broadcast consultancy Medialink.

Gunness leads a team of five PROs and will be responsible for ensuring video news releases and programming get widespread airing, and for assessing the effectiveness of coverage.

His predecessor, Sarah Chappell, became client development director, responsible for government and charitable bodies, last year.

Gunness, formerly a BBC World presenter and Newsnight contributor, reports to director of broadcast operations Dennis Vaughan, who joined from the BBC last year.
