The SETsquared Partnership - comprising the universities of Bath, Bristol, Southampton and Surrey - is embarking on its first PR offensive ahead of a spending review by funding body the Higher Education Innovation Fund.
The partnership plans to communicate with students and businesses to ensure its courses are meeting their required training needs.
The media relations-based campaign will target education and investment press in an effort to build the universities' reputation among investors and other interested parties, according to SETsquared marketing director Karen Brooks.
'There is a lot of knowledge in universities and the Government is keen to get this out into the business community,' she added.
