Diary: Getting to grips with Spam - or not

Nexus Communications may be in need of a little help with its internal communications, we discovered this week. It appears that some in the agency are blissfully ignorant about who their own clients are.

One such client, the legendary tinned meat Spam, appears to have a particularly low profile within Nexus.

On the scent of a story, PRWeek's intrepid newsdesk phoned the agency and asked to speak to someone about Spam.

We were put through to 'Dave', who answered the phone in a somewhat harassed and irritated manner.

PRWeek: 'Are you the person to speak to about Spam?' Dave: 'Yes.'

Satisfied, we charged ahead with a flurry of enterprising questions on Spam's forthcoming PR strategy.

Dave: (pause) 'Sorry, you've come through to IT.'
