FD chief executive Charles Watson said Haville's main task would be to develop new business in Europe, where there was growing demand from corporates for IR support. 'The biggest opportunity is with Continental companies that don't use corporate brokers to advise them like their counterparts do in the UK,' Watson said.
'Every few months, clients in countries such as Switzerland, Holland, France, Germany and Scandinavia approach us to upgrade their investor relations,' he added. Watson cited interest from companies in emerging markets such as Russia, India and South Africa that were looking to access western capital markets.
Haville departed from College Hill last July and has since operated as an independent business consultant.
