Hopkinson walks away from B&B

Band & Brown CEO Gerry Hopkinson has resigned, nine months after Canadian group Cossette bought the company.

Hopkinson, who last week left B&B for the second time, told PRWeek he planned to set up his own agency.

'In any big agency you cannot really experiment. If you want to do something fresh you need to start on your own,' he said.

Hopkinson joined B&B in 1991 from the Quentin Bell Organisation as a board director before leaving in 1996 to head PR at Mondex International and then Citra.com.

Chairman Nick Band is reverting to the combined chairman and CEO role.
