Public Sector Brief: Council promotes VE Day anniversary

MANCHESTER: Manchester City Council is re-introducing ration books to promote VE Day's 60th anniversary celebrations on 8 May. The day of commemoration features an afternoon of 1940s-themed music and dance throughout the public areas of Manchester city centre. The ration books are designed with 1940s-style graphics and feature the full programme of the council's celebrations and photographs from 1945. The pictures are also featured in the Imperial War Museum North's current exhibition, The North at War.
