Media Relations: Housebuilder to seek policy shift

Linden Homes is to argue the housebuilders' case in the media as the Government prepares to respond to the Barker Review of Housing Supply.

The builder of more than 1,000 new homes in 2003 has brought in The Wriglesworth Consultancy to influence the debate on housing issues in the national media.

'The Government has been very dictatorial towards housebuilders and nobody's providing the counter-argument. This will be a very proactive campaign,' said Wriglesworth director Neil Mackwood.

'The industry is heavily regulated and there has been no reform of the planning process; meanwhile they are screaming for more housing,' he added.

Mackwood claimed more infrastructure was needed to enable private firms to meet the housing need.
