Media Relations: Chocolate site in luxury egg drive

Online chocolate retailer Hotel Chocolat is encouraging consumers to spend more on Easter Eggs for gifts and themselves.

Marketing manager Richard Kent said it would target the 'upper end' of national press and lifestyle magazines to convince consumers to consider its range of luxury chocolate eggs, with prices starting at £17.

After Easter, Hotel Chocolat will use research on the changing tastes in chocolates to extend media coverage beyond traditional gifting occasions.

Hotel Chocolat, which retains Republic PR, opened its first store last year in Watford and plans up to ten openings for 2005.
