Public Sector: Dundee PPP brief put out to tender

Dundee public-private partnership The City of Discovery Campaign is reviewing its PR account to promote Scotland's fourth-largest city as a business and tourist destination.

Formed in 1986 to coincide with the return of Edwardian explorer Captain Scott's ship The Discovery from the Arctic, the campaign requires an agency 'with new ideas' to help raise its profile.

The agency that secures the two-year contract will be expected to provide strategic guidance, presentations and speeches for events, as well as manage festivals.

The brief includes writing editorial features, organising journalist visits, attracting radio and TV production companies, publication production and securing sponsorship from local businesses and other organisations.

The review threatens Benchmark Media's two-year hold on the account, which will require an agency to have a Dundee office.
